Echo Basement are a post-indie, progressive-shoegaze band, formed in Athens, Greece since 2015. They experiment constantly in indie-rock, post-rock and psych rock music while defined by the several and different musical influences of each band member.
Experimental instrumental songs, long melodic tunes, persistences, outbreaks and indie riffs are defining Echo’s sound. “Everything starts now” could be the band’s motto, as each moment seems to be a cause, a motive for a “start over”. The band consists of: Charis Razakos (vocals, flute), Jim Trakas (guitars), Chris Kremastas (guitars), John Tsoutsas (bass) and Angelos Gkiokas (drums).
In April 2016 they released their first full-album “Placid” with “FmRecords” record company which is available in all music stores. «Placid» was recorded during the flaming summer of 2015 in ScaStudios (with sound engineer and producer Theodore Zefkilis) while Greece was under surprising capital controls, economic pressure and instability, hard austerity and a tricky referendum. The tracks of the album, while composed during a long period, form a concrete result with many different alternative, progressive and instrumental elements.
